Henley Royal Regatta is an extra special annual rowing event first established in 1839, and a significant calendar moment to enjoy in amongst key British summer festivities. Hosted on the River Thames, the 2023 regatta lasts for six days, with races and hospitality happening around the picturesque town of Henley-On-Thames. With this elegant occasion offering a seasonal style opportunity, there’s a clear dress code which helps shape outfit shopping.
For ladies attending the highly esteemed Henley Regatta, dresses or skirts must have a hemline which hangs below the knee. Alternatively, jackets or blazers can be worn with trousers, or a full trouser suit. It’s not strictly essential to wear hats- although- headwear Is always a popular theme.

Florals are having a style moment, and this piece also has a luxurious guipure lace twist, as well as bringing a summer mood with the pastel colourway. I adore the flattering shape, particularly the pleated skirt. Add in a citrus-coloured block heel for an extra splash of sunshine.

The 1970s are an undisputed iconic clothing era, conjuring up images of flares and power suits. Step forward this modern homage, complete with flared angel sleeves for a flattering arm fit, and a luxurious satin sheen. Its neckline invites statement jewellery, and I’m picturing several layered chain necklaces plus matching hoop earrings, finished off with a pair of sling-back shoes.
